Staff Accountant – Corporate Office

TrendHR is looking to add a Staff Accountant to our corporate accounting team in Rockwall, TX.  This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who lives in Rockwall or the surrounding area and wants to build a long-term career close to home. The position offers exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities within a growing organization and the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industry.

What You'll Do

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and financial operations and work closely with our corporate accounting and finance team. Responsibilities may include:
  • Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other financial accounts
  • Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Support client billing, cash application, and payment reconciliation
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records
  • Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports
  • Support workers' compensation, benefits, payroll tax, and other PEO-related accounting reconciliations
  • Assist with audits and provide requested supporting documentation
  • Help maintain accounting controls and identify opportunities to improve processes
  • Work collaboratively with Payroll, Benefits, HR, Client Services, and other internal departments
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Previous staff accounting, general ledger, or similar accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, hands-on environment
  • PEO, payroll, staffing, or professional services experience is a plus, but not required
